Also sign up for Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Posterous to maximize your social media outlets. Integration

There are so many internet services/software for you to conduct your business online. The key is using the services that will integrate together to make your productivity higher. One great service I found is MailChimp. Its a email newsletter and contact list management application which I have integrated into my new website "www.heart4missions.net/guatemala". I then integrated MailChimp with my Google Contacts, Wufoo Forms, Paypal, and Twitter.

I am able to automatically import my Google Contacts, import any names and email address of anyone who donates through Paypal, and auto post a tweet to Twitter whenever we send out a new email newsletter. There are many more integrations options. After a complete organization evaluation we can determine the best setup for you to make sure that your work is maximized and process's are seamless.

Google Voice

I have Google Voice and have been using for over 3 years before it was even a Google product. Prior to Google Voice is was Grand Central. Its been a huge money saver and convenience. They have also now acquired Gizmo5 which is very similar to Skype and are interfacing it with Google Voice. They interface really nice together. Currently you can't get an account for either unless you already have it or get a personal invite from someone who does.

Watch this video to get a general idea what Google Voice is...

Free Church Database Management System

ChurchInfo is a free church database program to help churches track members, families, groups, pledges and payments. I am have been messing with the demos of this product for the last few days and this looks to be a very promising database application for churches and other non-profit organizations. I wouldn't say this is the best solution for an organization because of the lack of support and training it offers but for those that don't need it, its worth looking into. You get what you pay for however I would say this software is better than some that you do pay for.

Handbrake & VLC

Handbrake is by far the best video conversion tool I have ever used and I have used a few of them including tools that cost over $100.00. It was original designed for ripping DVD's to mp4 iPod compatible video files but it has evolved. I use it to convert files before uploading to YouTube or Vimeo. I also want to give respect to VLC Media Player. I have been using it for almost 8 years and it has proven to be the best, fastest, and most compatible audio/video player on the market. I might also add that they are both FREE so I encourage you to try them out!!

CMS ExpressionEngine

Out of all the CMS (content management systems) I have studied I have found Wordpress to be my favorite because its so easy to install, use, teach others, and its FREE. It also has clean web2.0 look and feel. Today however I ran into a new one called "ExpressionEngine". From just a quick look at it, it has great potential. They have a free version I am planning to install in the next month or so, so be sure to check back!!

Dropbox

I am here to let you all know of a very incredibly useful tool called Dropbox. Basically what it does is it gives you 2 free gigabytes of online backup space. There are many so many useful features I have found but I am only going to tell you about my two favorite. First one is you can create a folder and share that folder with any other Dropbox user. When you add, delete or change a file in that folder it will immediately sync that change with any one else sharing that folder. You can also view and download your files from any computer just by logging into your online Dropbox account. The second feature I really like is the public folder. Any file you put in your pubilc folder you can right-click and select "copy public link" and give that link to anyone you want to be able to download that file. Its really helpful when you need to email files to big for email. Well that is all for now on the subject of Dropbox. If you want Dropbox you can sign-up for free account by clicking here.

How to Send Bulk Email

Bulk email is an effective method for sending an email message to hundred if not thousands of recipients. Bulk emailing can be accomplished using one of several methods depending on the number of recipients and level of personalization required.

There are several considerations to take into account when planning a bulk email campaign. These considerations will help to determine which bulk email service is appropriate for you and your organization.
  • Number of emails
  • Number of recipients
  • Any special requirements like personalization or HTML coding
Its also a good idea to take into consideration the marketing aspect of things. What % of your recipients are you actually going to be effected by your email. Most people have a big email database and when they are sending an email, it goes to everyone. However maybe you are inviting everyone to a meeting in Florida but only 10% of your email list actually live in Florida or you are sending out a lady's bible study invite but only 60% are actually female. Catch my drift? What can happen is your recipients will either asked to be removed, mark you as spam, or most likely delete it before they actually open the email to see if they are interested. This also falls under what type of database are you using and if you are using to its full potential.

Bulk text messaging is also becoming a very popular way of communication delivery. Heard about twexting... Its a combination of SMS text messaging and twitter updating.
Definition of Twexting: The act of text messaging a single individual via Twitter, instead of sending them a direct text message.

That's if for now. Hope you enjoy!

If you are looking for a recommendation I can't give it to you with knowing more about your needs and the setup you currently have but Constant Contact is a very popular choice.
